Why the iPhone 5 should keep the same dimensions as the iPhone 4S?

After arriving on the market of new iPad 3, all eyes are now fixed on the flagship of Apple's new iPhone 5. If Apple follows its usual schedule of marketing its products, the iPhone 5 should then be rolled out during summer 2012.

Why the iPhone 5 should keep the same dimensions as the iPhone 4S?

One of the most controversial aspects about the iPhone 5 concerns the size of its screen. If one refers to rumors from before the launch of the iPhone 4S, we find that analysts and other experts predicted that Apple would increase the screen size of its next iPhone. It was not the case and since, rumors continue and analysts are convinced that the iPhone has a screen 5 from 4 to 4.6 inches.

While the current trend of smartphones screens is very large, as is the case for the Nokia 900 Lumia, the Samsung Nexus Galaxy, HTC X One or the Galaxy note, we think Apple will well offer many new features in its latest iPhone 5, but not about the size of its screen!

Indeed, Apple has kept the same screen size of 3.5 inches since the original iPhone and it is a simple reason. With this screen size, you can comfortably use your iPhone with one hand. With the current trend, the screen size increases and it is therefore obliged to change our smartphone in our hands to reach all corners of the screen with your thumb. As we can see in the picture, Ben Bajarin of Techpinions shows why Apple chose this screen size.

The thumb can reach all the screen surface with a dimension of 3.5 inches, while it can't on a 4.7 or 4.65 inches

One might think that since Android smartphones have chosen to expand their screens, Apple would like, but it should be noted that the size of our hands and our thumb has not advanced! Thus, Apple does not need to increase the screen size of its new iPhone 5 because it would sacrifice his convenience and that's not the objective of the firm.
